Ecordia is a highly developed web application. This means the system, software and data are all held on a group of powerful, remote computers. These web servers run on the Internet which means you can easily access these computers through any Internet-enabled PC. All the information within the training and assessment process is held centrally, allowing multiple numbers of people to work at the same time on a NVQ portfolio.
Download-time and access speed of the Ecordia System
Ecordia is not like any other website that you might visit, such as Amazon, Ebay, supermarket shopping or news websites. Ecordia is a complete software application running through the Internet, handling large amounts of data. Therefore, on occasion, some pages in the system may take a little longer than normal to download and appear on the screen. In most cases, this is usually if you are viewing a particular page or part of the system for the first time during your current online session.
Factors that affect the download-time and access speed of the system include:
● Your Internet connection speed. (We recommend ADSL broadband speeds of 500k—8mb)
● How many computers are concurrently running through your Internet connection. (This is the ‘Contention Ratio’) of your Internet connection.
● The components on your local computer—such as RAM, CPU speed, Hard-Disk space: however these have a fairly minimal impact.
