If a User fails to enter their password correctly on eight consecutive occasions their account will be automatically disabled.
If a candidate is locked out, an automatic message will be sent to Learning Support Admin users detailing the users whose accounts have been disabled within the last 24 hours. However, the candidate can use the 'forgotten username/password' link on the login page to reset their password if they have an email address on their account. So before taking any action, check that the enabled flag is ticked on the 'View Candidate' page, and if it is, then they've resolved the issue and you do not need to do anything.
Note: The tasks relating to candidates/portfolios which are inactive, such as Evidence Presented, and Final Verification etc, will not be displayed on a Users dashboard until the account is enabled again.
To re-enable the accounts (other than candidates):
1. Go to the Users tab
2. Locate the disabled account
3. Click 'Modify'
4. Check/tick the "Enabled" box located within Account Information next to the Username/Account name.
5. Click 'Save'
Note: If the login failure count is reading 8, then the User's account will disable immediately if they attempt to login again and do not provide a correct password. Once the User provides a correct password, and their account is enabled, the login count will return to zero, and the usual eight attempts will be available again.
See Password Reset if the user requires a new password.
To re-enable the account if a candidate:
1. Go to Candidates/Candidate Search tab
2. Locate the disabled account
3. Click 'View Candidate' then 'Modify'
4. Check/tick the "Enabled" box located within Account Information next to the Username/Account name.
5. Click 'Save'
