Offline/Online Candidates

For centre staff who add or modify candidates.

Each candidate's portfolio has a feature status, which you choose when you add or modify the candidate. It controls whether evidence and plans can be added, and whether the candidate is asked to sign things digitally.

Changing the feature status

You can change it at any time by modifying the candidate. To change several candidates at once, use Bulk Candidate Update.

If the course allows it, you can also use the Make Online and Make Offline buttons on the Portfolio Front Page. Make Online sets the feature status to Normal, and Make Offline sets it to Offline.

Showing the Make Online / Make Offline buttons: a centre administrator needs to:

1. Go to More > Course Admin > Courses.
2. Click Modify on the course.
3. Tick Offline Candidate control on portfolio front page.
4. Click Save.

Moving a candidate from Offline to Normal

Evidence added while a portfolio was Offline is held by the assessor. Changing the portfolio to Normal doesn't change who holds that evidence, so the candidate still can't work on it. To fix this, either:

• ask the candidate to add the evidence type again, or
• pass the evidence to the candidate by clicking Submit and then Undo Submit on it. See also Change Holder of Evidence.
