Second-Line Assessment of Unit Confirmation

Modified on Mon, 23 Feb at 10:52 AM

Follow these steps when conducting Second-Line Assessment (“SLA”) of a Unit confirmation.

Once a Primary Assessor, who is not yet qualified, has confirmed a Unit as complete by confirming the Unit Completion Declaration, the declaration must be confirmed by a qualified Assessor before the confirmation is sent to the Candidate. This process is known as Second-Line Assessment (SLA).

The qualified Assessor assigned to a P
rimary Assessor will be automatically notified that a Unit requires SLA confirmation via a ‘to do’ item which will appear on their start page titled ‘Unit Completion Declaration’.

1. Click on the ‘to do’ item. You will now be viewing the Unit Assessment and Verification Declaration page for the Unit that has been
confirmed as complete by the Primary Assessor. To agree and confirm completion of the Unit click the ‘Confirm’ button. If you are
not satisfied that the unit is complete click the
‘Action Required’ button. This will remove the Primary Assessor’s confirmation so
it can be confirmed again once the Primary Assessor has resolved the issues.

2. On returning the Unit to the Primary Assessor, you will need to communicate why the Unit has been returned. This is best achieved
using the message system, or adding a centre‐
only contact log in the Candidate’s portfolio for the Primary Assessor to read.
