Written Questioning - Creating and Editing

Modified on Tue, 27 Oct at 11:11 AM

For assessors.

Written questioning lets you set questions for a candidate to answer in their portfolio. This guide explains how to create the questions and how to edit them later.

Creating written questions

  1. On the viewing plan page or the evidence page, click Add Evidence Type. See Add Evidence Types / Requirements.
  2. Choose Written Questioning (Q&A) from the evidence type list.
  3. Click New Question, type the question and click Add Question. Repeat for each question.
  4. Click Save. The evidence page opens.
  5. Optional: click Link Evidence to link the evidence to the standards the questions will be assessed against.
  6. If the evidence is in a candidate's portfolio and is in Draft, click Go To Plan, then Submit. The plan appears on the candidate's Portfolio Front Page, where they can accept it and answer the questions.

Note: Step 6 doesn't apply if you're setting questions in a work template. See Work Templates.

Editing written questions

You can only edit the questions while the evidence is in Draft or Assessing status. See Evidence Status.

  1. On the evidence, click Modify.
  2. Click Edit next to the question you want to change.
  3. Make your changes and click Update. Repeat for any other questions.
  4. Click Save. You're taken back to the evidence.

Tip: While you're assessing, you can use Modify to add questions or change existing ones. Once the candidate accepts your feedback, they can answer the new questions and submit the evidence again. This is useful if the candidate has misunderstood a question, or you need more information before you can make a positive assessment decision.
