The PE Components feature allows Learning Support Administrators and Quality Assurers to create, edit and manage your PE Components, which will appear on the blue tab for the New Apprenticeship Standards if the Supports Portfolio of Evidence setting is active on the course.
The PE Components are designed to help manage and record the achievement of the requirements for the Assessment Gateway, as detailed in the Assessment Plan for the chosen Apprenticeship Standard.
1. Create a PE Assessment group for an Apprenticeship Standard:
1.1 Go to More/Course Admin/PE Components
1.2 Click 'Add New Group'
1.3 Enter a group name, this is usually the name of the Apprenticeship Standard, and click 'Save'
2. Adding Assessment Methods to a PE Component Group
2.1 Go to More/Course Admin/PE Components
2.2 Select a PE Assessment Group
2.3 Click 'Add new Assessment Method'
2.4 Complete the following fields to set the properties of the assessment method
Assessment Method e.g. Literacy, numeracy, Assessment Gateway
Grades - select the grade(s) that can be achieved
Tick if the user requires any of the following when recording the outcome:
Can provide feedback
Can Upload Files
Has target End Date
Has Target Start Date
Who Can Assess PE Components - select the user who is to be able to make the outcome
2.5 Click 'Save'
2.6 Click 'Assessment Area' to add notes and criteria for users to tick (coverage of criteria will be shown on the blue tab in a progress bar)
2.7 Click 'Save', then repeat from step 2.3 to add further assessment methods to the group
