The IQA Sampling Plan allows IQAs/Internal Verifiers to select which units must be sampled for each portfolio.
Users with the following roles can access this screen via the QA/IQA Sampling Plan menu:
External Verifiers (EQA/SV) ready only
Internal Verifiers (IQA)
Quality Assurance Co-ordinators
1. To view the sampling plan and select one of more units for sampling, go to QA/IQA Sampling menu:
1.1 Select the aim containing the units you want to sample
1.2 All candidates working towards the selected aim will be listed, the following colour codes apply:
- White cells - candidate is working towards the unit. A Unit Completion Declaration task will not be generated for the IQA when the unit is complete, although the IQA can still choose to sample the unit if they choose.
- Yellow cells - candidate is working towards and it must be sampled by IQA before final verification can be processed. A Unit Completion Declaration task will be generated for the IQA once the unit has been confirm complete by both assessor and candidate. Use the square note pad icon to write any instructions for the IQA e.g.: LO1, or sample performance evidence.
- Amber cells - unit has been selected for interim sample. Each time the progress of the unit changes, the IQA will be notified. This can be is switch off at any time by clicking on the bell icon for the unit. Note: Unit completions declarations are not generated for units that have been marked for Interim Sample (Amber cells).
- Green cells - unit has been sampled by the IQA.
- Green cell with yellow rectangle - unit has been sampled, and was planned to be sampled.
- Grey cells - the candidate is not working towards this unit.
1.3 Click on a white cell to toggle between yellow and white, click on the bell icon to turn on and off interim sample.
Each unit cell will display the evidence types that have been verified. If the IQA has selected which criteria they sampled, then the evidence type will be displayed in red font for those units, otherwise the evidence type will be displayed in black font.
2. Creating notifications for IQAs (sampling reminders):
2.1 Go to Course Admin/Learning Aims and select a Learning aim
2.2 Click ‘IV Sampling Events’
2.3 Create the following event subscription:
Trigger = select when you would like the IQA to be notified to sample (periodic trigger recommended)
Trigger Details = set as necessary (whether this is required depends on the trigger selected)
Action = Make Portfolio Action
Action Details = enter instruction for user
Target User = leave as 'No target user'
Target Role = leave as 'any role'
Target Relationship = Internal Verifier
2.4 Click 'Add'
